We increase the resilience of our beautiful Pacific Northwest community via several training pathways for our volunteers. We’d love to have you involved so that you can confidently respond to an event, home or away, with community resilience in mind.

All volunteers begin the process by registering with the City of Bainbridge Island. This registration includes a background check and ensures that all volunteers are registered as emergency workers with the State of Washington. Along with this application, Bainbridge Prepares teams each have differing requirements and training for their volunteers, ensuring the roles of these teams can be fulfilled effectively and efficiently, with the safety of our members and our community of utmost importance.
Our first Psychological First Aid (PFA) training of the year will be held on March 2nd from 6-8pm and will be taught by the PFA co-leads. This course is open to everyone and is the first step in earning your PFA certification. PFA training and certification is required for MRC members and HUB managers, however, we recommend for everyone to have in their personal toolkit for crisis situations and for navigating everyday stressors that you or your community members might encounter. We will provide an introduction to the basics of PFA and give opportunities to practice in a supportive learning environment. If it has been a while since your last PFA training, consider coming again to refresh those skills and get some practice in!
